Over the past few weeks the children of Room 12's maths class have been learning how to add and subtract with large numbers and today was our last lesson for this unit. They have been required to apply past knowledge on 'place value' as well as learn the processes required for solving difficult and complex number problems - in some cases up to 6 digit number problems! Today's task involved problem solving. They were required to:
1. identify what the problem was (adding or subtracting?)
2. how to set the problem out for working
3. solve the equation
Next week we begin a new unit of work on Geometry!
